Off-the-shelf platform
or a custom build?
Most brands make this call by looking at the technology. The answer is actually in what you sell: your pricing logic, your order flow and the systems that need to connect. We build both, but first we work out together which one fits you.
Where the line is.
Ready-made platforms handle most of the work. Their limits appear past a certain point, and that point has to do with how your business trades, not with technology.
A platform is enough
- Standard products, standard basket, standard checkout
- One sales channel, one price list
- Shipping and invoicing covered by existing apps
- A manageable number of products
- Promotions can stay within what the platform offers
A custom build is needed
- Prices that vary by customer, dealer or contract
- Subscriptions, repeat orders or bundles
- Two-way sync with ERP, CRM or production systems
- Tracking true profitability product by product
- A sales flow the platform does not allow
How we work.
- 01
We look at what you sell
Product structure, pricing logic and order flow. The decision comes from here, not from the technology.
- 02
We choose the foundation
If a platform is enough, we set that up. If not, headless or a custom build.
- 03
We connect the integrations
Payments, shipping, invoicing, accounting and marketing tools, each tested on its own.
- 04
We set up measurement
Which product, channel and campaign actually make a profit. In place before launch.
Frequently asked.
That is the wrong question; they exist for different jobs. A platform gets you started quickly and costs less early on. If your sales flow is standard, it is the right answer and we will set it up. A custom build makes sense when you need something the platform does not allow: variable pricing, subscriptions, two-way sync with an ERP. The right question is not which is better, but which side you are on.
Yes. Three things matter in a migration: moving product and customer data without loss, redirecting old URLs to new ones and keeping your search rankings. The third is the one most often skipped; stores migrated without a redirect plan lose the organic traffic they had built up.
A standard build on a platform takes two to four weeks if the product data is ready. On a custom build, the timeline depends on the number of integrations; every system beyond payments, shipping and invoicing adds time. We confirm the date in writing once the scope is clear.
The ones you already use or choose. Which provider to work with is a commercial decision; we connect the one you pick rather than steering you to a particular provider.
Because revenue and profit are not the same thing. Once commission, shipping, returns, packaging and ad costs are deducted, a best-seller often turns out to be losing money. The dashboard shows revenue, not profitability. That is why we build setups that track real profit product by product.
Building a store and bringing in sales are two different jobs. We do both, but we scope them separately. After launch, search visibility and advertising come in, and we start neither before measurement is in place.
We also wrote about the mistakes brands most often make when they start selling online: mistakes brands make selling online.
